The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is one of the largest leading and most established International English language Universities in the Czech Republic with an excellent reputation, as has a long history and degree partnership with the State University of New York, specifically, The State University of New York, Empire State College (SUNY, ESC). UNYP has the most diverse and international faculty in the Czech Republic, with the majority of it´s instructors being native English speaker. Its Campus is situated in one of the popular and central historic districts in Prague.

Accommodation

UNYP has its own Student Residence in the city center of Prague. Belgicka Apartments are situated in two completely renovated residential buildings located about 2 minutes away from UNYP. There are 25 apartments, each with a fully equipped kitchen, desks, storage spaces, at least one bathroom, high quality beds and high-speed internet. Many apartments have an access to either a balcony or a terrace, fully accessible to the students. Please be aware that accommodation availability cannot be guaranteed.

Specifics

The orientation is mandatory since during that session UNYP concentrates all the information needed to study at UNYP. It is extremely useful and all students, beyond the information part, receive documents and info, clear out required paperwork as well as they get training on the IT resources they are required to use during the semester. You will also be given your student card during orientation.

Academic Matters

You will attend regular courses that have been recognized by Macromedia. You will attend these courses along with other students from the partner university or customized courses for Macromedia's students. There is a very strict attendance and students must not miss classes more than three times per semester! The structure follows the US-American system, i.e. you will have midterm exams, quizzes, etc.
