Travel
BFSU offers airport pick-up service on ONE specific day/date at a specific time frame only. Students arriving on another day/time, will have to organise their own means of transport to the university. A taxi rank can be found right outside the airport. Don't forget to ask for the receipt (fa piao) to verify the fare. Be careful when getting out of the airport, and keep in mind to only take official cabs at the taxi rank. More information here.
Accommodation
There are several choices on campus, for example BFSU IBS or SICAS. A brand new dormitory building was completed in 2023 with single rooms with private bathrooms at about 450 EUR per month. There are other more affordable alternatives on campus with the cheapest single with shared bathroom at less than 300 EUR per month. Shared rooms are available but only offered if demand for beds is high.
Off Campus alternatives are best booked through trustworthy online portals, although you may need a Chinese speaking friend to help you. However, living on campus is usually most affordable as due to its central location, rents can be quite high close to the university. Sometimes homestays can be arranged if there are families volunteering. Please ask our colleagues from BFSU about homestays if you are interested.
Health Insurance
At
BFSU a specific health insurance which is mandatory by Chinese law has
to be taken; the cost is currently CNY 400/Semester, that can only be
payed in cash. (amount may vary!).
Macromedia recommends to take out an additional health insurance.
Academic Matters
An application fee of around CNY 800 is due. You will attend regular courses at BFSU that have been recognised by Macromedia. You will attend these courses along with other students from the partner university.
